Chef – Part‑time (Zero‑hours)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Chef on a zero‑hours contract to join Brendoncare Knightwood in Chandler’s Ford. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for our 20‑bed residential home and staff, tailoring dishes to individual dietary needs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack menus for 50+ residents and staff each day.
• Adapt recipes for specific consistency requirements and swallowing difficulties.
• Cover the Chef Manager’s duties when absent.
• Provide staff meals and occasional catering for visitors and relatives.
• Manage stock rotation, maintain kitchen cleanliness and uphold COSHH standards.
• Complete HACCP records and ensure food safety compliance.

Required profile

• Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
• Commercial cooking experience, preferably in a care‑home or similar setting.
• Basic IT competence (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, HACCP and COSHH legislation.
