Chef – Residential Care Home

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Chef to join our newly‑opened luxury care home near Ringwood. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals for 72 residents, supporting their wellbeing and comfort each day.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals that meet residents' dietary needs.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan balanced menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Manage daily kitchen operations, control food production costs and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Keep accurate records of supplies, monitor fridge and freezer temperatures, and ensure food safety.
• Oversee stock rotation, assist with ordering, receive deliveries and conduct stock valuations.
• Uphold health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Ensure all crockery and equipment are cleaned, stored properly, and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.

Required profile

• City & Guilds 706 (Level 1 & 2) or equivalent culinary qualification, achieved or in progress.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Strong communication skills to understand residents' dietary requirements.
• Team‑player able to work collaboratively and independently when needed.
• Initiative to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.

Required skills

• City & Guilds 706 culinary qualification.
• Food Hygiene Certificate.
