Chief Finance Officer (Part‑time) – West Country

About the role

We are looking for a self‑employed Chief Finance Officer to deliver part‑time CFO services to ambitious private businesses in the West Country, with revenues between £2 million and £50 million. You will work autonomously, building and managing your own portfolio of clients while benefiting from the support of a global network of CFOs. You will enjoy flexible working arrangements and the freedom to shape your own service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and advisory to owners, CEOs and MDs of mid‑size companies.
• Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, forecasts and performance dashboards.
• Assist clients with growth initiatives such as acquisitions, consolidations and capital raising.
• Deliver timely financial reporting and insights that drive decision‑making.
• Maintain long‑term relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and partner.

Required profile

• Qualified member of a UK chartered accounting institute (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, etc.).
• Proven experience as a CFO or Finance Director in a commercial environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial finance, business strategy and corporate governance.
• Demonstrated ability to build genuine, long‑lasting client relationships.
• Self‑starter with high energy, ambition and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
