About the role

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is seeking a visionary Chief Information Officer to lead its digital transformation agenda. Reporting to the Strategic Director of Grenfell Partnerships, Communities and Transformation, you will shape how technology supports public services, strengthens resilience, and delivers better outcomes for over 150,000 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Council’s Digital, Data and Technology Strategy.
• Oversee IT operations, cyber security, enterprise architecture, and data governance.
• Ensure technology investments align with corporate priorities and deliver measurable resident benefits.
• Build trusted relationships with elected members, executive directors, partners, suppliers and the community.
• Champion digital thinking across the organisation and inspire multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in public‑sector or large‑scale IT environments.
• Strong strategic vision with the ability to navigate politically sensitive contexts.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues for diverse audiences.
• Commitment to public service, integrity and community‑first values.
