Chief Technologist – Synthetic Therapeutics (Peptides & Oligonucleotides)

About the role

SRG is looking for a Chief Technologist to lead its Synthetic Therapeutics programme, focusing on peptide and oligonucleotide technologies. You will shape future capability, support commercial growth and drive innovation in a fast‑growing therapeutic area.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the recognised technical authority in peptide and/or oligonucleotide chemistry.
• Provide expert guidance to customer programmes, strategic initiatives and internal capability development.
• Translate emerging scientific developments into commercially relevant applications.
• Define long‑term technology strategy, identify gaps and investment priorities.
• Support the translation of advanced chemistry into scalable, commercially viable processes.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to identify new business opportunities and engage customers, partners and investors.
• Mentor scientists, promote knowledge sharing and build expertise across the organisation.

Required profile

• Recognised subject‑matter expert with deep expertise in peptide and/or oligonucleotide chemistry.
• Strong market awareness and commercial insight.
• Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in senior technical leadership and mentorship.

What we offer

• Salary range £64,394 – £84,394 per year
• £491 monthly car allowance
• Fixed‑term contract until March 2028
