Childcare Tutor / Assessor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Early Years professional to join a respected training provider as a part‑time Childcare Tutor and Assessor. Working 20 hours per week, you will deliver diploma and apprenticeship programmes to learners across Dorset, combining remote home‑based teaching, classroom sessions and workplace observations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess childcare training modules for diploma and apprenticeship learners.
• Conduct workplace observations and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain learner progress records and carry out regular progression reviews.
• Develop and adapt approved training materials to ensure consistency and high standards.
• Support learners to achieve qualifications within agreed timeframes.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in a childcare setting, preferably in a senior or management role.
• Background in early years, teaching assistance or residential childcare.
• Possession of an A1 Assessor Award (TAQA, CAVA, D32/33 etc.) – training provided if absent.
• Teaching qualification and Level 2 Functional Skills are desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle for travel to learner sites.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage own diary and communicate effectively.

• Assessment and tutoring experience in the childcare sector.
