Children and Young People Support Worker

About the role

Join a values‑led organisation providing safe accommodation and specialist support for survivors of domestic abuse across East Sussex. As a Children and Young People Support Worker you will build trusting relationships with children and young people aged 0‑18, delivering therapeutic and practical support tailored to each individual.

Key responsibilities

• Develop safe, meaningful relationships with children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
• Plan and deliver one‑to‑one and group therapeutic activities using creative, trauma‑informed approaches.
• Support life‑skill development for teenagers and advocate with schools and external agencies.
• Assist families during transitions and navigate referral pathways.
• Travel across refuge accommodation throughout East Sussex to provide flexible, on‑site support.

Required profile

• Compassionate, reflective and creative practitioner with experience supporting children affected by trauma, abuse or adverse childhood experiences.
• Previous roles such as Support Worker – Children and Young People, Youth Support Worker, Family Support Worker or similar.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends.
