Children & Family Team Manager – Locality Team

About the role

Our client in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Children & Family Team Manager to lead a locality team delivering high‑quality social care services. You will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies, and driving performance against targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching and performance management for the team.
• Allocate and monitor workload, ensuring priorities are met.
• Implement safeguarding policies, quality assurance and complaints handling.
• Oversee recruitment, induction, development and appraisal processes.
• Manage budgets, resources and staff absence in line with procedures.
• Promote equal opportunities, diversity and health & safety compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a social care team.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, legislation and policy.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff.
• Excellent communication with employees, managers and external partners.
