Children's Residential Support Worker

About the role

Join Witherslack Group as a Children’s Residential Support Worker and play a pivotal part in the daily lives of young people living in our homes. You will help them regain a sense of childhood, build confidence, and work toward a positive future.

Key responsibilities

• Support young people with morning routines, school preparation and homework.
• Plan and deliver recreational activities, from sports and gaming to outings such as go‑karting.
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Provide emotional support and respond to both high‑point celebrations and low‑point challenges.
• Ensure a safe, caring environment throughout evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to undertake up to four sleep‑ins per month.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a residential team.

What we offer

• Base salary between £29,034 and £35,400 per year.
• Additional pay for up to four sleep‑ins per month (£80 each) and an attendance allowance (£1,400).
• Regional allowance, welcome bonus, and loyalty bonus for eligible locations.
• 7 weeks of paid holiday and a full 4‑week induction via the Care Academy.
• Clear progression pathways, including internal promotion to team leader or manager and the Aspire future managers programme.
