Children's Support Worker – Reading

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Children’s Support Worker to join our team in Reading on a temporary, part‑time basis. You will work directly with vulnerable children and young people, helping them build resilience and develop positive coping strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group support to children and young people in various settings.
• Collaborate with families, schools, social workers and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans.
• Monitor and record progress, ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed.
• Adapt support approaches to meet individual needs and changing circumstances.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a child‑focused support role.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
• Flexible availability to work across different settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
