Children's Team Manager – Family Support

About the role

The Children’s Team Manager will lead the Family Support Team within Wrexham County Borough Council. This senior position oversees a multidisciplinary group delivering care and support plans, child protection, and public law services for children and families engaged with Children’s Social Care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor Care and Support Plans to achieve optimal outcomes for children and families.
• Provide robust support to families, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
• Manage Child Protection Plans and oversee Public Law Outline processes.
• Take cases through to the first court hearing, coordinating legal and social work inputs.
• Lead a team of 15 Social Workers, 3 Social Care Assessors and 3 Assistant Team Managers, fostering professional development and performance.

Required profile

• Strong management experience within a social work or children’s services environment.
• Ability to lead a sizeable multidisciplinary team and drive service improvements.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
• Commitment to registering with Remedy for locum positions.
