Children's Team Manager – Locality

About the role

The Children’s Team Manager will lead a designated locality team within Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, ensuring high‑quality, customer‑focused services for children. This full‑time temporary position requires strong leadership to drive performance, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership, management and direction to teams and managers, maintaining standards and supporting development needs.
• Prepare service plans and team action plans, prioritising resources to achieve outcomes.
• Participate in research, audit and benchmarking to monitor performance and service user satisfaction.
• Plan and implement service improvements to meet legislative requirements and local/national priorities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in managing teams within a public sector or social care environment.
• Ability to identify learning and development needs and ensure appropriate support.
• Strong analytical skills for service planning, performance monitoring and reporting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children.
