Church Engagement & Fundraising Officer

About the role

Christian Aid is seeking a proactive Church Engagement & Fundraising Officer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Working primarily from home, you will travel across London and the South East to build and deepen relationships with churches, encouraging them to support the charity’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and approach prospective churches, securing meetings and speaking opportunities.
• Inspire churches to increase giving, especially during appeals and key fundraising moments.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing high‑value church supporters.
• Equip volunteers and local champions to extend Christian Aid’s reach.
• Use insight, data and local knowledge to prioritise high‑potential relationships.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about community outreach and comfortable speaking in church services and local gatherings.
• Willing to travel regularly across London and the home counties, including evenings and weekends.
• Confident phone caller and meeting organiser.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a remote team.
