CIPD & CMI Skills Assessor – HR Learning Specialist

About the role

This position supports learners undertaking CIPD and CMI qualifications by assessing their work and providing constructive feedback. You will work in a hybrid setting, attending the London office as required while also travelling to meet learners.

Key responsibilities

• Mark and assess learner assignments in line with awarding‑body standards and internal quality processes.
• Provide clear, developmental written feedback to help learners progress.
• Offer academic guidance and coaching throughout the programme.
• Monitor learner progress and flag those needing additional support.
• Maintain accurate records of assessment outcomes and turnaround times.
• Collaborate with delivery, quality assurance and learner support teams to ensure consistency.
• Participate in standardisation meetings and internal QA activities.
• Ensure safeguarding, data protection and compliance procedures are followed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of CIPD and/or CMI qualification frameworks.
• Experience assessing CIPD qualifications.
• Background in HR, learning and development, management or related business functions.
• Experience supporting learners in education, apprenticeship or training environments.
• Excellent written communication with the ability to give clear feedback.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Level 5 HR or business‑related qualification and an assessor qualification.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CIPD and CMI assessment criteria.
• Ability to produce detailed written feedback.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate learner records.
