Civil Enforcement Officer – Parking Services

About the role

Join the Parking Services team in Morpeth to ensure safe, orderly parking across Northumberland. As a Civil Enforcement Officer you will patrol streets and car parks, promote considerate parking and take action against violations.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and enforce parking controls in line with the Traffic Management Act 2004 and local Traffic Regulation Orders.
• Patrol on‑foot and as part of a mobile team on both on‑street and off‑street car parks.
• Issue penalties, collect cash from pay‑and‑display machines and manage disc dispensers.
• Assist with enforcement of dog fouling and littering legislation.
• Work shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays, with weekend enhancements payable.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Strong communication skills for dealing with the public.
• Physical fitness to walk for extended periods in all weather conditions.
• Clear DBS check eligibility.

Required skills

• Knowledge of traffic and parking legislation (Traffic Management Act, TROs).
