Civil Engineer – Bridges & Civils Team

About the role

Join the Bridges and Civils team within our Transportation business to help shape the future of UK and Ireland transport infrastructure. You will work on high‑profile railway, road and water projects, delivering civil and structural designs for new builds, renewals, maintenance and assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality civil and structural designs for railway, highway and water projects.
• Produce design documentation including sketches, detailed drawings, 3D BIM models, analysis models, calculations, reports and specifications.
• Collaborate with national and international design teams to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support bid preparation, tender responses and business development activities.

Required profile

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Near‑Chartered or Chartered status with membership of ICE or IStructE.
• Experience working on projects for clients such as Network Rail, National Highways or local authorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in BIM and 3D modelling for civil/structural design.
• Ability to produce detailed design documentation and specifications.
• Strong analytical and calculation skills for structural analysis.
