Civil Engineer – Drainage & Highway Design

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join a multi‑discipline consultancy based in Bristol. The role involves leading drainage and highway design projects for residential, commercial and industrial developments while supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end design of drainage schemes, including SuDS and SAB solutions.
• Prepare highway design documentation and negotiate S278/38 agreements with authorities.
• Produce detailed AutoCAD and Civils3D drawings and micro‑drainage calculations.
• Write technical reports and liaise with clients and local authorities.
• Mentor and support graduate engineers and other junior staff.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably within drainage and highway design.
• Proven ability to manage projects and maintain client relationships.
• Experience working on a variety of residential, commercial and industrial schemes.
