Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Projects in Forests

About the role

Our client, the UK’s largest land manager, is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead the delivery of infrastructure projects across its forest estate. You will own projects from concept to completion, working on a diverse portfolio that includes reservoirs, forest roads, visitor facilities, bridges and cycling trails.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the forest estate.
• Oversee maintenance and improvement of assets such as roads, bridges, reservoirs, car parks and visitor facilities.
• Manage contractors, ensuring works are safe, efficient and meet specifications.
• Conduct inspections and condition assessments of civil engineering assets.
• Prepare and review specifications, designs and technical documentation.
• Support procurement, contract management and project delivery activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues, consultants and external stakeholders.
• Promote sustainable and low‑carbon engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum few years’ industry experience in civil engineering.
• HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of contractor management and contract administration.
• Understanding of CDM regulations and construction health and safety requirements.
