Civil Engineer

About the role

Join the UK’s largest land manager as a Civil Engineer and help deliver essential infrastructure across the North district, including bridges, forest roads, reservoirs and car parks. You will work with internal teams and external contractors to keep vital assets safe, compliant and fit for purpose while supporting the transition to a low‑carbon, sustainable future.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, specify and deliver civil engineering maintenance and project work.
• Set up and manage contracts, run pre‑start meetings and verify safety documents (RAMS).
• Monitor contractor performance, flag issues and support senior engineers on larger projects.
• Produce simple designs, keep asset records up to date and inspect assets in internal systems.
• Assist works supervisors/operators and contribute to carbon‑reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in a civil engineering role (planning, design, or site/contract supervision).
• Minimum HNC/D in Civil Engineering.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Solid understanding of CDM regulations and related legislation.
