Civils Site Engineer – Water Treatment Plant

About the role

You will join a leading contractor delivering civil works on a live water‑treatment facility in the South West of England. The role focuses on site setting‑out, quality assurance and documentation across civil packages for a critical infrastructure project.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out site setting‑out using total station, GPS and other survey equipment.
• Interpret and implement design drawings and specifications on‑site.
• Produce and maintain quality documentation, including ITPs, as‑built records and QA files.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with client specifications.
• Support subcontractor management and coordinate daily site activities.
• Raise and manage technical queries (TQs) and RFIs.
• Assist with programme delivery and report progress to the Site Manager/Project Manager.
• Review and implement RAMS, ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
• Maintain accurate records such as site diaries, surveys and quality reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil or water‑infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in setting‑out drainage, concrete works, utilities and treatment structures.
• Experience managing QA documentation, including ITPs and as‑built records.
• Ability to read and apply engineering drawings to meet specifications.
• Experience working on live operational or regulated sites.
• Relevant qualifications such as a CSCS Card; SSSTS or SMSTS desirable.
