Civils Site Manager – HS2 Project

About the role

This is a hands‑on, site‑based position delivering a key civils package on the HS2 programme. You will own day‑to‑day operations, lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure that works are completed safely, on schedule and to the high standards required by HS2.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations across civils and structures work.
• Supervise site teams, engineers and subcontractors.
• Deliver works safely in line with approved RAMS, drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Drive high standards of health, safety and wellbeing on site.
• Ensure quality compliance through Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Coordinate plant, labour and materials to maintain progress.
• Support Temporary Works implementation at TWS level or above.
• Manage site‑level issues and feed them into change‑control processes.
• Maintain accurate records and support digital QA systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager or General Foreman in civils/infrastructure.
• SMSTS (or equivalent) certification.
• Strong background managing site teams and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of RAMS, safe systems of work, site coordination and programme delivery.
• Experience on HS2, Network Rail, major highways or similar infrastructure projects is desirable.
• Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) or Coordinator (TWC) experience preferred.
• Familiarity with structured QA/assurance environments.
