Class 1 Driver (Casual)

About the role

Join Gregory Distribution Group as a Class 1 Casual Driver, delivering customers' products across the UK on a curtain‑sided trailer. You will work flexible, zero‑hours shifts, supporting peak periods and covering annual leave or unplanned absences.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and deliver goods to customers throughout the UK.
• Secure loads using ratchet straps and perform part manual handling.
• Complete paperwork efficiently with a handheld PDA.
• Maintain constant communication with the transport team, providing progress updates.
• Adhere to scheduled routes and deadlines, including occasional night journeys.
• Participate in regular training to stay current with industry standards.

Required profile

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 CE licence.
• Current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work under deadlines and in a team‑focused environment.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK.

Required skills

• Load securing with ratchet straps.
• Handheld PDA operation for documentation.
• DCPC compliance and Digital Tachograph operation.
• Route navigation and planning.
