About the role
Platinum People is seeking reliable Class 1 drivers for a busy logistics operation in Skelmersdale. The position starts as a temporary assignment with a guaranteed pathway to a permanent contract after 12 weeks, offering a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern for both day and night runs.
Key responsibilities
- Operate curtain‑sided and box trailers to transport goods across the region.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle inspections and complete required paperwork.
- Adhere to all road safety and company compliance standards.
Required profile
- At least 12 months of HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving experience.
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 licence.
- Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
Required skills
- Proficiency in operating heavy goods vehicles (Class 1, C+E).
What we offer
- Day rate £16.81 (incl. holiday pay) and night rate £18.00 (incl. holiday pay).
- 38.5 guaranteed hours per week and paid breaks.
- Permanent contract opportunity after 12 weeks.
