Class 1 HGV Driver – Woking (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver to join Royal Mail’s trunking operations in Woking. This temporary role runs until the end of 2026 and involves transporting mail between national depots on organised, planned routes.

Key responsibilities

• Transport mail between Royal Mail depots across the UK.
• Perform full vehicle safety checks before each journey.
• Follow scheduled routes with precision, covering morning, evening and weekend shifts.
• Represent Royal Mail professionally on every run.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence held for at least 2 years.
• Current CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Minimum 180 days of Class 1 driving experience in the past 2 years.
• Maximum six penalty points on licence.
• Ability to pass vetting and DBS checks.

Required skills

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence operation.
• CPC card compliance.
• Digital tachograph usage.

• Pay of £22.41‑£25.53 per hour, shift‑dependent.
