Class 1 Night Driver (HGV C+E)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Class 1 driver to join our night‑shift team at DX Network Services. You will operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles, transporting parcels and freight between customer sites and our central hubs across the South East England region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver goods to and from customer premises and DX hubs on time, adhering to strict deadlines.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any defects.
• Comply with driver‑hours regulations and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Adapt routes in response to traffic conditions, signs, or unforeseen events.
• Maintain a safe and legal driving record at all times.

Required profile

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with no more than six penalty points.
• Possess a current DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) card.
• Clean driving record with no DD/DR code convictions.
• Ability to work night shifts and meet the physical demands of the role.

Required skills

• Safe and legal operation of heavy goods vehicles.
• Understanding of driver‑hours and WTD legislation.
• Conducting vehicle safety checks and reporting defects.
