Class 2 Driver – Biosolids Transport

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Class 2 Driver to operate LGV Class C vehicles equipped with tipper or hook‑lift systems, transporting biosolids across Devon and Cornwall. The role follows a two‑week rotating schedule and involves both on‑road and on‑site duties.

Key responsibilities

• Drive LGV Class C tipper/hook‑lift vehicles safely to collect and deliver biosolids at rural and off‑road locations.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, report defects and arrange maintenance as needed.
• Load, secure and unload containers in line with company procedures and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery notes, tachograph records and onboard system updates.
• Communicate with transport coordinators, site staff and land‑management teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide courteous customer service during site visits and telephone interactions.

Required profile

• Valid UK Class 2 C licence.
• CPC qualification and a digital tachograph card.
• Experience with tipper or hook‑lift equipment (training may be provided).
• Background in waste, recycling, agriculture, utilities or similar heavy‑transport environments is advantageous.
• Strong health‑ and safety awareness and ability to work independently.
