Class 2 Driver – Drayman (Leeds)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Class 2 Driver (Drayman) to join our Leeds depot, delivering drinks to pubs, bars and customers across Yorkshire and Humberside. The role combines safe, compliant driving with hands‑on loading, unloading and customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects to ensure roadworthiness.
• Deliver drinks to assigned locations on time, following planned routes.
• Load and unload stock using appropriate equipment, securing loads with restraints.
• Collect and return empties such as kegs, cases and gas bottles.
• Verify deliveries against paperwork, complete handheld device tasks and collect payments where required.
• Communicate any delivery issues, shortages or delays to customers.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer premises information.
• Adhere to health & safety procedures, driver hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations.
• Support warehouse team with loading, sorting returns and other duties as needed.
• Present a professional appearance in the LWC Drinks uniform.

Required profile

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence with Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph rules and working‑time regulations.
• Experience of safe loading practices and use of load‑restraint systems.
• Reliable, team‑oriented and able to provide excellent customer service.
• Professional communication skills and a clean driving record.
