Class 3H Registered Building Inspector – Hybrid (East London)

About the role

The employee‑owned consultancy is seeking a Class 3H Registered Building Inspector to join its East London team. You will provide expert technical guidance, assess regulatory compliance and support complex, higher‑risk projects through the building control process.

Key responsibilities

• Manage building control applications for complex and higher‑risk buildings.
• Review drawings, specifications, fire strategies and structural information.
• Assess projects against the Building Regulations, Building Act and Building Safety Act.
• Carry out inspections during design and construction phases.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and compliance records.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and specialist consultants.
• Identify non‑compliance and propose practical technical solutions.
• Support applications involving the Building Safety Regulator.
• Mentor less‑experienced inspectors and contribute to technical development.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 3H.
• Significant experience on higher‑risk or technically complex buildings.
• Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
• Relevant qualification in building control, surveying, construction or a related discipline.
• Membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB or another recognised professional body.
• Excellent communication, report‑writing and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
