Class-Based Teaching Assistant – Primary (SEN Focus)

About the role

Aspire People is seeking a committed Class‑Based Teaching Assistant to support primary and SEN classrooms across Middleton and surrounding schools. This full‑time, long‑term position focuses on delivering tailored support to pupils with special educational needs while working alongside teachers and SENCOs.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Deliver targeted assistance to pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs.
• Implement individual learning and support plans in collaboration with class teachers and SENCOs.
• Provide 1:1 support and lead small‑group interventions as required.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and inclusion within the classroom.

Required profile

• Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred).
• Previous experience in a school‑based TA role.
• Strong experience supporting SEN pupils.
• Ability to work flexibly across different primary age groups.
• Patient, proactive and confident approach to supporting learning.
