Classroom Assistant – Gloucester Primary School

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Gloucester. You will work closely with the class teacher to support daily learning activities and help create an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support, especially for pupils with additional needs.
• Help maintain a safe, organised classroom and support daily routines.
• Contribute to the preparation of teaching resources and classroom materials.
• Support behaviour management and promote a positive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and caring attitude towards children’s education.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
• Ability to work full‑time (8:30 am‑3:30 pm) and start as soon as possible.

Required skills

• Basic literacy and numeracy to support classroom tasks.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with pupils and staff.
