Classroom Assistant – Primary School (Salisbury)

About the role

We are seeking a patient and motivated Classroom Assistant to join a well‑respected mainstream primary school in Salisbury. This full‑time, onsite role supports learning across the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, offering a valuable entry point for recent graduates or an exciting new challenge for experienced assistants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist specialist teachers in delivering engaging, well‑planned lessons across core and foundation subjects.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for children, including those with ASD, behavioural issues or learning difficulties.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support daily classroom routines, including preparation of resources and supervision of activities.
• Contribute to the monitoring and recording of pupil progress.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, dedicated and willing to go the extra step for young learners.
• Recent graduate or individual with experience working with children (e.g., mentoring, tutoring, nursery or childcare).
• Ability to build effective rapport with children and work collaboratively with staff.
