About the role

The Education Authority is seeking two dedicated Cleaners to join its facilities team. Working under the supervision of a Cleaning Supervisor, you will help maintain a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment across the premises.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dry‑buff, spray clean, wax and machine‑scrub floors; strip and re‑polish where required.
• Clean and treat stains on soft floor surfaces such as carpets and matting.
• Sanitize toilets, showers, fixtures and fittings.
• Dust, wash and clean ledges, walls, fixtures and internal surfaces up to 3.35 m high.
• Polish furniture and other surfaces as needed.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins and transport waste to designated collection points.
• Comply with health, safety, COSHH and safeguarding regulations at all times.

Required profile

• Ability to work as part of a team and cover colleagues during sickness.
• Willingness to wear protective clothing, flat‑soled enclosed‑toe footwear and use issued cleaning equipment safely.
• Commitment to complete required paperwork and training, including induction and refresher sessions.
• Eligibility for an enhanced disclosure check.

Required skills

• Floor cleaning techniques (sweeping, mopping, buffing, waxing, stripping, polishing).
• Carpet and mat cleaning.
• Bathroom and sanitary fixture cleaning.
• High‑level dusting and surface cleaning up to 3.35 m.
• Furniture polishing.
