Cleaner – Public Buildings & Facilities

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to maintain high standards of cleanliness across public buildings and facilities in Sidmouth. The role involves keeping communal areas, washrooms and other spaces clean, safe and presentable for residents, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean offices, communal areas and public facilities.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors.
• Clean and sanitise washrooms and replenish supplies.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Dust and wipe surfaces.
• Report maintenance issues, damages or health and safety concerns.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
• Work as part of a team to uphold high cleanliness standards.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time‑keeping and attendance record.
• Physical capability to stand and lift where required.
• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures is advantageous.

Required skills

What we offer

• Pay rate of £13.69 per hour.
• Full‑time hours: Saturday to Wednesday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
