Cleaner/Housekeeper – Hospital Cleaning – London

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Cleaner/Housekeeper to join a leading cleaning provider in London, delivering daily cleaning services within a hospital environment. You will work on a rota basis, five days a week, ensuring a safe and hygienic setting for patients, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect shared areas such as waiting rooms, bathrooms, and eating spaces, including floors, sinks and showers.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with waste‑disposal guidelines.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as hoovers, mops, scrubber‑dryers and carpet cleaners.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures to limit the spread of germs.
• Adhere to safety policies, including proper handling and storage of hazardous substances.
• Report any maintenance or repair issues to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning standards and activities.
• Work independently or as part of a team to deliver consistent service.

Required profile

• Current Enhanced DBS check.
• Previous experience in hospital or NHS cleaning.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Calm‑natured and respectful of a clinical environment.

Required skills

• Operation of hoover equipment.
• Use of mops and manual cleaning tools.
• Handling of scrubber‑dryer machines.
• Use of carpet cleaning machines.
