Clerk of Works – Residential & Affordable Housing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to join a respected consultancy delivering a varied portfolio of residential and affordable housing schemes across the North West. You will be the quality champion on site, ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections across low‑rise, high‑rise, apartment and extra‑care developments.
• Monitor workmanship, identify defects and non‑compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain clear records throughout each project.
• Liaise with contractors, housing associations, clients and internal project teams.
• Ensure all works meet building regulations, technical standards and best practice.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector or Quality Inspector on residential or affordable housing projects.
• Familiarity with housing association processes and requirements.
• Strong eye for detail, organised and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
