Client Finance Team Leader

About the role

The Client Finance Team Leader will support the Client and Business Finance team within Birketts' Business Services Division. You will act as the deputy to the Client Finance Manager, ensuring smooth daily financial operations and providing guidance to assistants and fee earners.

Key responsibilities

• Deputise for the Client Finance Manager as required.
• Supervise and support Client Finance Assistants.
• Oversee daily processing of receipts, payments, billing and credit notes.
• Authorise and release payments and transfers within agreed timeframes.
• Support reconciliations and compliance checks against financial controls and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and oversight to team members and fee earners.
• Manage team workflow and priorities to maintain continuity of service.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes and controls.

Required profile

• Experience working in legal accounts or a comparable professional‑services environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to supervise and develop junior staff.
