Client Manager

About the role

The client is a growing accountancy practice seeking an experienced Client Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of SME and owner‑managed businesses. You will act as a trusted advisor, delivering high‑quality accountancy and tax services while supporting the firm’s commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME and owner‑managed clients, providing proactive advice and commercial insight.
• Prepare and review accounts, tax returns and other compliance work.
• Deliver corporate and personal tax advisory support as required.
• Identify opportunities to add value and help clients achieve their business objectives.
• Oversee client deadlines, workflow, WIP, recoverability and billing.
• Review work produced by junior team members and provide guidance.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and collaborate with partners and senior managers to ensure an excellent client experience.

Required profile

• ACCA and/or CTA qualified (or qualified by experience).
• 5+ years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of SME and owner‑managed clients.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and corporate/personal tax compliance.
• Ability to provide advisory support and add commercial value.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
