Client Portfolio Manager

About the role

Join a well‑established chartered accountancy practice in Exeter as a Client Portfolio Manager. You will combine hands‑on accountancy work with strategic client relationship management, supporting the firm’s growth across a diverse portfolio of OMBs and SMEs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring high‑quality delivery of year‑end accounts, tax compliance and broader advisory services.
• Develop and nurture client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services and business development.
• Lead and mentor a team of accountants, overseeing training, review processes and performance.
• Collaborate closely with partners to support strategic initiatives and drive firm profitability.
• Deliver value‑added advisory and planning projects, enhancing client satisfaction and retention.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification such as AAT, ACA, ACCA or CTA.
• Proven experience in an accountancy practice, progressing to a managerial level.
• Background working with small, medium or large independent firms or top‑tier practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client portfolios and lead teams.
