Client Portfolio Manager – Private Credit (Associate Director/Director)

About the role

Barings is seeking a senior Client Portfolio Manager for its European Private Credit business, reporting to the Managing Director of Client Portfolio Management. Based in London, the role focuses on business development, client servicing and product development across Barings’ global and European direct lending capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison for business development of Barings’ European private credit capabilities.
• Communicate investment strategies to internal teams and external clients to grow assets under management.
• Provide scheduled and ad‑hoc updates on private credit market performance, trends and competitor intelligence.
• Prepare and actively participate in meetings with current and prospective clients.
• Collaborate with investment, sales and other stakeholders as a subject‑matter expert.

Required profile

• Significant experience in private credit, direct lending or related investment areas.
• Proven track record in client relationship management and business development.
• Strong understanding of European and global private debt markets.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
