Clinical and Patient Services Pharmacist

About the role

The Clinical and Patient Services Pharmacist will join the Outpatient pharmacy team at West Middlesex Hospital, providing clinical leadership for dispensary‑based patient services. This role supports both in‑patient and out‑patient dispensing while contributing to the development of patient‑centred services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high‑quality, patient‑focused dispensing service for hospital in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Provide clinical and professional leadership to all dispensary staff.
• Supervise, train and develop pharmacy personnel.
• Collaborate with the Dispensary Manager and Deputy Managers to coordinate daily operations.
• Offer a clinical pharmacy service to a designated ward or clinical area.
• Support patient discharge planning and ensure smooth pharmacy processes for discharged patients.
• Assist Patient Service Managers in maintaining efficient dispensary operations.
• Provide specialist clinical pharmacy support on Care of the Elderly and Medical wards.
• Mentor rotational and trainee pharmacists in both ward and dispensary settings.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with experience in hospital or community settings.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical pharmacy services.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and postgraduate education.
• Commitment to delivering safe, effective, legal, and accurate medication use.
