Clinical Deputy Manager

About the role

The Clinical Deputy Manager will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality resident care in a 86‑bed care home. This senior leadership position provides hands‑on guidance to nursing and care teams while overseeing day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical governance, care planning, medication management and risk assessment.
• Conduct audits, support inspections and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor performance against regulatory and organisational standards.
• Provide visible, hands‑on leadership, mentoring and development for nursing staff.
• Act as deputy to the Home Manager, overseeing the service in their absence and making operational decisions.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid NMC PIN.
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience in a care setting.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
• Experience in clinical governance, audits and compliance.
• Ability to support, mentor and develop staff.
• Confident decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• Compassionate, professional and resident‑focused approach.

Required skills

What we offer

• Up to £26.50 per hour, based on experience.
• Full‑time contract – 40 hours per week (5 × 8‑hour shifts).
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform, 5.6 weeks annual leave, paid NMC fees.
• Ongoing training, clinical development and clear progression to Home Manager roles.
