Clinical Deputy Manager

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Deputy Manager to support the day‑to‑day clinical operations of a high‑quality elderly care home in Ingleby Barwick. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will lead the nursing team, ensure compliance with CQC standards and deliver outstanding person‑centred care to residents.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in the effective daily running of the home.
- Lead, motivate and develop the clinical team to deliver exceptional resident care.
- Act as Nurse in Charge, maintaining the highest standards of nursing practice.
- Administer medications and perform clinical procedures such as wound care, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of long‑term health conditions.
- Ensure care plans, clinical documentation and records are accurate and compliant.
- Maintain compliance with CQC standards, healthcare regulations and internal policies.
- Supervise, mentor and train nursing and care staff.
- Collaborate with GPs, healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
- Promote dignity, respect and person‑centred care throughout service delivery.
- Contribute to clinical audits, quality‑improvement initiatives and service development.
Required profile
- Registered General Nurse (RGN), Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD) with a valid NMC PIN.
- Previous experience in a nursing home or elderly‑care setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge and proven leadership abilities.
- Good understanding of CQC standards and healthcare compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for delivering outstanding person‑centred care.
- Experience supporting residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is highly advantageous.
- Proactive approach to problem‑solving, quality improvement and staff development.
