Clinical Negligence Solicitor (5+ PQE) – Remote‑First

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor with at least five years post‑qualification experience to join a growing claimant team. The role is primarily remote‑first, requiring attendance at the Reading office only two days per month, offering flexibility while working on high‑value medical negligence matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of claimant clinical negligence claims from inception to resolution.
• Progress claims through pre‑action protocol, litigation, negotiation and settlement.
• Draft Letters of Claim, witness statements, pleadings, schedules of loss and settlement documentation.
• Identify and progress cases ready for claim, issue, service, negotiation or settlement.
• Advise clients on liability, quantum and litigation risks.
• Work closely with senior leadership on complex case strategy.
• Support and mentor junior solicitors and team members.
• Maintain accurate time recording and case management.
• Deliver exceptional client care and communication.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE.
• Proven experience managing litigated claimant clinical negligence caseloads independently.
• Confident handling complex, high‑value matters with minimal supervision.
• Strong commercial awareness and client‑focused mindset.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proclaim (case management system) – desirable.
• Microsoft Office suite.
