Clinical Negligence Solicitor/Associate

About the role

Our client, a respected UK law firm specialising in healthcare and insurance, is expanding its Clinical Risk team in Southampton. This position offers an experienced clinical negligence solicitor the chance to manage high‑value defendant claims for major healthcare providers and insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims, including drafting pleadings, witness statements and response letters.
• Negotiate and mediate claims, acting as the primary client contact.
• Provide commercially focused advice while ensuring compliance with client protocols.
• Supervise and mentor junior fee‑earners and contribute to training initiatives.
• Participate in business development and knowledge‑sharing activities.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in clinical negligence or insurance law, preferably from a national or specialist firm.
• Familiarity with NHS Resolution panel work and an understanding of healthcare sector drivers is advantageous.
• Strong organisational ability, independent working style and confidence under pressure.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a proactive, client‑focused approach.
