Clinical Nurse Manager – Community Nursing & Ward

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Manager will lead the community nursing teams and the 20‑bed Davidson Ward at Girvan Community Hospital. This 12‑month fixed‑term position is responsible for ensuring safe, high‑quality nursing care across district and primary care services.

Key responsibilities

• Accept delegated accountability for safe standards of nursing care and patient safety.
• Manage resources effectively, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• Oversee staff training, professional development, education and research initiatives.
• Lead District Nursing and Primary Care Nursing services, securing optimal delivery of services.
• Provide professional and operational leadership, contributing to clinical governance.
• Offer expert nursing advice to senior managers and other staff groups.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification.
• Graduate, Masters level or equivalent higher education/experience.
• Demonstrated management and leadership competencies with proven success.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills for challenging situations.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Research and development experience.
• UK driving licence (essential).
