Clinical Pharmacist – Advanced Medicines Management (Band 8A)

About the role

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8A) to lead advanced medicines management services across its prison health facilities, including HMP Morton Hall, Swinderby STHF and HMP North Sea Camp. You will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high‑quality pharmacy care in secure settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and evaluate comprehensive medicines management services for the East Midlands prison cluster.
• Provide expert clinical pharmacy input across primary care, substance misuse and mental health pathways.
• Ensure compliance with medicines legislation, governance standards and NHS policies.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, fostering professional development.
• Contribute to service innovation and continuous improvement across the prison network.

Required profile

• GPhC‑registered pharmacist with a strong clinical pharmacy background.
• Experience in secure environments or mental health settings is desirable.
• Collaborative, innovative leader comfortable in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
• Must have continuously resided in the UK for at least three years and be able to pass security vetting.
