Clinical Pharmacist – Full‑time, Permanent – Southampton

About the role

Spire Southampton Hospital is seeking a full‑time Clinical Pharmacist to join its multidisciplinary team. This permanent position offers the chance to work across multiple hospital departments, providing expert medication advice and supporting patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Review patients' medication histories, current prescriptions and clinical data.
• Provide advice to consultants, nurses and other clinicians on safe, appropriate and cost‑effective use of medicines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and safety.
• Suggest new processes or equipment to enhance health outcomes.
• Participate in on‑call duties and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of prescribing practice.

Required profile

• Pharmacy degree (Diploma desirable) and current GPhC registration.
• Post‑qualifying experience in a hospital setting.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
• Motivation to deliver a comprehensive pharmacy service within a hospital.
• Non‑medical prescribing experience is advantageous.
