Clinical Research Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Clinical Research Nurse to join the BEST4 Screening Study, a collaborative trial between Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, University of Cambridge, Cancer Research UK and Queen Mary University of London. The role involves managing patient clinics on a mobile unit, administering the Capsule Sponge test, and supporting participants throughout the study journey.

Key responsibilities

• Run the BEST4 mobile unit clinic, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
• Explain study details, obtain informed consent, and conduct the Capsule Sponge test according to protocol.
• Collect samples, enter data, and maintain accurate study records.
• Provide clinical care during visits, including emergency procedures such as bleeding control or resuscitation.
• Coordinate appointments with the clinic coordinator and liaise with research teams at QMUL, Cambridge and EMS.
• Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse with experience in patient‑facing clinical settings.
• Enthusiastic, flexible and able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites and work in a mobile clinic environment.
• Commitment to a fixed‑term contract and ability to complete mandatory training.

• Administration of the Capsule Sponge test.
• Informed consent process.
• Basic emergency response (bleeding control, resuscitation, anaphylaxis management).
