CMM Inspector – Precision Measurement Specialist

About the role

Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of bespoke valves, is seeking a skilled CMM Inspector to join their quality team in Stroud. You will operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines to verify the precision of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and program CMM equipment to measure and inspect parts.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to define measurement requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMMs.
• Analyse measurement data and produce detailed inspection records.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, company procedures, and GD&T requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and report non‑conformities.
• Support continuous improvement, NPI projects, and R&R of measurement systems.
• Maintain good housekeeping in inspection areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CMM Operator in a manufacturing environment (manual & CNC).
• Familiarity with Mitutoyo and/or Aberlink systems is advantageous.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Capability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
