CMM Technician – Aerospace Inspection

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CMM Technician to support aerospace and precision‑engineering projects. You will ensure that critical components meet strict regulatory and customer specifications through accurate dimensional inspection.

Key responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment such as Axiom, Azimuth, Extol and Baty.
• Carry out first‑off, in‑process and final inspections of precision aerospace parts.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and specification documents.
• Produce and review inspection reports and FAIR documentation (AS9102).
• Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for non‑conformances.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and customer aerospace standards.
• Manage calibration and traceability requirements for measurement equipment.
• Assist with internal and external audits and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a CMM inspection role within aerospace or precision engineering.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Experience with CMM programming using Aberlin software.
• Familiarity with first‑article inspection (AS9102) and related documentation.
• Understanding of measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, shadowgraphs and gauges.
• Knowledge of root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving techniques.
